Thank you for volunteering as team mom. We couldn't do it without you. If you have any questions please contact Julie Munoz at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. - Distribute the snack schedule along with the team roster.
- Encourage families to switch with each other if they can't make their scheduled day.
- Do not include the coach since he has his hands full with the team's equipment.
- Size the shirts for the kids
- They get to pick a number between 0-99
- Ask the coach if he wants their FIRST or LAST name on the shirts
- The "Cal Ripken" patch goes on the left sleeve; as a guide, the bottom of the patch should be 1½ inches from the end of the sleeve.
- Patches are for baseball only
I checked the pricing at S & S Sports and it will cost $6.00 per shirt for the name & number. $10.00 for the name, number and patch. You can also iron on the patch instead of having it sewn on. You or the coach can have the shirts done any place you choose. I just checked on some pricing.
Please ask your coach if they need help with uniforms. Some coaches prefer to do it themselves but many could use the help. If so, here is how you can help.
- Softball uniforms have already been completed, so no additional action is needed here except to help the coach collect money for the names on the uniforms
- No swing of bats, no siblings, no wrestling or climbing on fences are allowed in the dugout.
- Boys must wear a cup to protect themselves at all times.
- Girls please remove all jewelry before the game.
- Softball-all infield players must wear a mouth guard or face mask at all times, chin straps and cage are a must for helmets.
- This can correlate snack schedule if you wish.
- Emphasize on safety.
- Put catcher's gear on the child and have them ready to take the field.
- Encourage families to switch with each other if they can't make their scheduled day.
- This is the home team's responsibility.
- Talk to your coach about this. He may have someone in mind. If not ask someone on your team if they would like to volunteer to do it all season.
Field Scoreboard Operation & Troubleshooting Guide
- This too is the home team's responsibility. In order to keep the score consoles in working order for the spring season we will need your help. Fields 1,2,3,4, Jacobs and Lang will need consoles (Not needed for T-ball).
- If you are the first team of the day set up the score console.
- If you are the last team of the day put the score console away.
- They are located in the umpire room.
- Visitor supplies scoreboard operator and Home Team has the official scorebook.
- They are scheduled during playoffs.
- The city of Johns Creek will block out the dates for OPAA to reserve the covered picnic areas.
- I will send an email when the dates are available.
- They are reserved on a first come first serve basis.
- An email will go out letting you know when and where to pick them up, usually right outside the concession stand.
- Questions please email Tara Small at jsmall1@comcast.net
The concession cards are intended to help us out when we don’t bring cash to the park. The card is worth $20.00 but costs $18.00. Here is how the concession cards will work:
- They are basically business cards with monetary amounts printed around the edge. Every time you make a purchase the concession worker will punch out the amount spent.
- Concession Cards will now be sold on Saturdays at the concession stand for $18.00 ($20.00 value).
We may make adjustments as needed
***T-ball (Baseball/Softball) and 7 Farm (Baseball/Softball) are not required to volunteer this season***
- Teams will staff the concession stand for a total of 16 hours per team
- 8 parent volunteers working 2 hour shifts (see attached schedule)*each time slot = 2 volunteers*
- Team Moms, Head Coach & (1) Designated Assistant Coaches families do not need to volunteer
- 12 players per team less the three mentioned above leaves you with 9 volunteers. Leave 1 as a substitute
- Please be aware there will be families for many reasons that will be unable to serve. The team mom, coaches, etc. are welcome to step in if you are able.
- If they can’t serve during their scheduled time they can use the team substitute or find another parent on the team to switch with (as a last resort use a sub from the team(s) listed below. They would need to contact me at jsmall1@comcast.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- Dads are definitely capable of concession duty
- No teenage substitutes
- Each parent will volunteer 2 hours per child
- For safety reasons, children are not allowed in the concession stand
- Concession hours are: M-F 5:00-9:00 and Saturdays 9:00-9:00
- If the park is closed due to weather during your time slot you will not be rescheduled and your commitment is done
- The park has hired concession managers that will be there to train all volunteers so have no fear you are in safe hands
- In the event it’s really slow the concession manager(s) can, at their discretion, send you home
- The concession manager(s) are Tanya Jones and Bill Little. Their kids play ball at the park.
- What I need from you: The name(s) of the person(s) assigned to each time slot
***Two teams are on reserve as substitutes and special events assistance***
A 8 Coach Navarro
AA Softball Coach Durrence
**Please be patient with us, this is the first time concessions have been run by the park in a long time. There will be adjustments we’ll need to make as the season progresses. I’m sure you will hear some complaining but just remind them that the park depends on parent’s assistance to keep the concession stand open. We really tried every possible scenario to make everyone happy but inevitably we just can’t do that.***
