FALL 2010 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

TEE BALL, BASEBALL and SOFTBALL REGISTRATION
Registration for the Fall 2010 program opens on May 8th (Saturday) at 8am and will remain open until August 6th (Friday) at 5pm or until all leagues are filled. Registration is first-come first-serve and many leagues will fill to capacity prior to the close of registration. No priority is provided for prior Spring or Fall participants in the Ocee Park baseball or softball program. Wait Lists will be created for those leagues that are full and players may be registered on a Wait List without charge. The Fall program will offer tee ball, baseball and softball leagues in the table as noted on the bottom of this page.

One significant item of note regarding the Fall program:  Fall 2010 program participants will NOT be given Lottery selection priority for the Spring 2011 season and will be treated the same as a New player registrant.  A player that did not participate in Spring 2010 season, but plays in Fall 2010, will not be granted priority or “Returning Player” status when the Spring 2011 season registration opens.

The Fall program is designed as a 2-month supplement to the Spring program to give players that enjoy baseball and softball a chance to play twice a year. For many players, it is also an opportunity for them to get a head start on their Spring league since a player's Fall league assignment is based on their playing age for the following Spring season. Player assessments are not performed and teams are assigned instead of using a draft selection system and the focus of the Fall program is less on winning and competition and more on player development and transition based on their Spring league assignment. Please download and read the following Fall program description so that you know what to expect as you consider registering.

Registration is available on a first-come first-serve basis with no priority given to returning Spring or Fall players. Teams will be assigned by League Commissioners and/or the Player Agent between August 9th and 22nd and all parents/players will be notified of team assignments prior to August 29th. Practices are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 30th, and the season will conclude on or before Saturday, October 30th (weather permitting). If necessary, the season will conclude on Saturday, November 6th, only if an additional weekend is required to complete the minimum number of games for the Fall season due to weather cancellations.

Cost for the Fall season will be $175 for all baseball and softball age groups and $150 for tee ball. The registration fee includes a standard picture package for all players.

Players should be registered based on their league age for the Spring 2011 season. For baseball, this is the age of a player as of April 30th, 2011. For softball, it is the age of a player as of December 31st, 2010. Please determine the league age for your son or daughter and use this age to select the proper category in which to register. PLAYER ASSESSMENTS
Player assessments are not conducted for the Fall program. Attempts are made to competitively balance teams but the focus of the Fall season is on player development. League standings are not maintained, playoffs are not conducted, and there are no All Star teams in the Fall program.

PLAYER LEAGUE age determination guidelines
For purposes of registration, determine your child's league age as noted below and use this age to select the appropriate registration category. League age calculation is based on the program (baseball or softball) and not specifically on gender. For Tee League, since the program is a baseball program, the baseball age date is used to calculate the league age for both male and female players.

For all divisions of Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken baseball, the date to determine your player's league age for the Fall 2010 season will be April 30, 2011.

The date to determine your player's league age for the Fall 2010 season in all divisions of Babe Ruth softball will be Dec. 31, 2010.

OCEE PARK BABE RUTH LEAGUE BOUNDARY
The Ocee Park Babe Ruth League boundary, as established by our league charter, encompasses an area including zip codes 30022 east of Haynes Bridge Road, 30005 north of Old Milton Parkway and south of the Forsyth County line, and 30097 west and north of the Chattahoochee River and south of McGinnis Ferry Road. Click on the map below for an expanded view of the Ocee Park Babe Ruth League boundary. Players must reside within the league boundary area in order to be eligible to register (unless those players are returning Fall and/or Spring players with a residency exemption).
