OPENING DAY PICTURES
MAYOR BODKER & COUNCIL MEMBER KAREN RICHARDSON TOSS OUT 1st PITCHES
Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker and City Council Member Karen Richardson were guests of Ocee Park baseball
and softball players on Saturday, 3/1, for Opening Day festivities. Mayor Bodker demonstrated his curve
ball prior to the 3pm Majors National 70/50 season opener between the Cardinals and Diamondbacks. Council
Member Karen Richardson showed excellent form with her Opening Day fastpitch toss in between the Majors
NGFA softball doubleheader featuring the Bandits and Heat in game #1 and the Bandits and Thunder in game #2.
Ocee Park parents, players, volunteers, and Board Members wish to thank Mayor Bodker and Council Member
Richardson for taking time from their busy schedules to be part of our Opening Day ceremonies and for
their continued support of our OPAA youth baseball and softball programs at Ocee Park. Also on-hand for
Opening Day ceremonies was Kirk Franz, Director of Recreation and Parks for the City of Johns Creek. OPAA
enjoys a great working relationship with Kirk and is grateful for the opportunity to operate our program
at Ocee Park.
