A batting helmet must be worn any time a player is swinging a bat. Yes,
this even includes soft-toss with whiffle-balls or tennis balls, and hitting
in the batting cages.
Batting helmet cages and C-flaps: In all Softball Divisions, a cage
must be attached to the helmet. In Baseball Tee, Farm, and A Leagues, a
cage must be attached to the helmet. In
Baseball AA, AAA, Major, 13-15 Junior, and 16-18 Senior Leagues/Divisions, no c-flap or cage
is required, although it is encouraged from a safety standpoint.
Helmets may not be re-painted, and may not contain tape or re-applied
decals unless approved by the helmet manufacturer (helmets must be
NOCSE certified).
Catchers must wear all protective gear including a dangling throat guard, a protective cup (males), and a catcher's glove (not a fielding
glove).
Players are not allowed to wear jewelry at any time during practices
or games. This includes watches, bracelets, necklaces, ear rings, or other jewelry regardless of the material (metal, plastic,
elastic, etc.).
No swinging a bat unless supervised by a coach. Must be on a designated
practice field or location, or in a cage.
No on-deck batters at any time, including practice (except
13-15 Junior and 16-18 Senior baseball divisions and Majors 12U
and Seniors 14U/16U softball Divisions).
Players may not warm up by swinging a bat outside the foul fences before
their turn at bat.
No big barrel bats (except
13-15 Junior and 16-18 Senior
baseball Divisions). Bats may be wood or metal, but
must not exceed 2 and 1/4 inch diameter. Big barrel bats are
limited to 2 and 3/4 inch diameter in the divisions in which
they are permitted.
No steel cleats are permitted in any league/division
(Ocee Park local league rule) except for the 16-18 Senior
division in baseball (new for Spring 2008).
